Becoming Scrooge

“Scrooge didn’t consciously choose to be a miserable old miser.”

Long time subscribers may remember the time I wrote about money scripts, “unconscious, core beliefs about money that we developed in childhood and young adulthood and that drive financial behaviors.”

The researchers (Brad and Ted Klontz) who uncovered the four main money scripts people tend to hold (money worship, money vigilance, money avoidance and money status) also co-wrote a book with a CFP and financial therapist (with an excellent newsletter) named Rick Kahler (hello, Richard Kahler!) called The Financial Wisdom of Ebenezer Scrooge.

There are a handful of books I find myself recommending over and over again to friends and clients. This book is one.
